Peptides for men: what you can get prescribed, by goal, with status and price
The short answer
Men most often ask about peptides for recovery, body composition, sleep and focus, longevity and weight management. Peptides.build prescribes options in each, such as BPC-157 for recovery and tesamorelin for body composition, from $68/mo. Each is prescribed by a licensed US provider after an online intake and compounded by a licensed 503A pharmacy. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved, most of the research is preclinical, and some protocols are covered by the HHS policy of October 28, 2026 while blends are not.
Which peptides are men prescribed, and what has each been studied for?
Grouped by the goal men usually start from. “Studied for” describes the research, not a result you should expect. Status is each protocol's position under the HHS policy of October 28, 2026, as of October 29, 2026.
Recovery. Repair-focused injectables, all three built around BPC-157.
| Protocol | Status | Studied for | From | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| BPC-157 | Covered by HHS policy | Preclinical tendon, ligament, muscle and gut repair models | $158/mo | Start |
| Wolverine Stack | Blend: outside policy | BPC-157 plus TB-500, each studied in animal repair research; no trial of the pair | $183/mo | Start |
| KLOW Stack | Blend: outside policy | Adds GHK-Cu and KPV: skin, gut and soft-tissue research areas | $183/mo | Start |
Body composition. Growth-hormone secretagogues. They signal the pituitary; none of them is growth hormone.
| Protocol | Status | Studied for | From | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tesamorelin | FDA-approved brand exists | Randomized trials, all in HIV-associated abdominal fat accumulation | $158/mo | Intake coming soon |
| Tesamorelin / Ipamorelin | Blend: outside policy | Two secretagogues on different receptors; the pair is untested | $183/mo | Start |
| CJC-1295 / Ipamorelin | Blend: outside policy | CJC-1295 studies in healthy adults measured hormone secretion, not outcomes | $183/mo | Start |
Sleep and focus. Neuropeptides with mechanism research and modest human data. Keep expectations grounded.
| Protocol | Status | Studied for | From | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DSIP | Voted against, outside policy | Sleep architecture research from the 1970s and 1980s, with mixed findings | $158/mo | Start |
| Semax / Selank | Blend: outside policy | Semax for attention signaling, Selank for anxiolytic pathways | $183/mo | Start |
Longevity and energy. Two of the three single-ingredient peptides we prescribe that the HHS policy covers.
Hormone signaling. A signaling peptide that sits upstream of the reproductive-hormone axis. Provider review matters more here, not less.
| Protocol | Status | Studied for | From | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kisspeptin | Not named in the policy | Small mechanism studies of the related kisspeptin-54 form; none used the catalog form | $158/mo | Start |
Weight management. GLP-1 care. The large randomized trials were run on the branded drugs, not on compounded versions.
| Protocol | Status | Studied for | From | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Compounded Semaglutide | FDA-approved brand exists | GLP-1 analog; branded trials in obesity, type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular risk | $68/mo | Start |
| Compounded Tirzepatide | FDA-approved brand exists | GIP and GLP-1 agonist; branded trials in obesity and type 2 diabetes | $118/mo | Start |
Pick the goal, then the protocol. A licensed US provider reviews a five-minute intake before anything is prescribed.
What do the status labels mean?
- Covered by HHS policy. BPC-157, MOTS-c and Epitalon: single-ingredient peptides a licensed 503A pharmacy may compound for a patient with a prescription, under ten conditions. Not FDA approval.
- FDA-approved brand exists. Tesamorelin (Egrifta, for HIV-associated lipodystrophy), semaglutide and tirzepatide. The compounded versions are different products and are not FDA-approved.
- Blend: outside policy. The policy covers one active ingredient per product. Our blends are still prescribed by a licensed provider after an intake.
- Voted against. FDA's advisory committee voted against DSIP in July 2026. It is outside the policy and prescribed only when a provider decides it is appropriate.
- Not named. Kisspeptin is not one of the six peptides; the policy says nothing about it.
Full detail on which peptides are legal.
Are peptides a replacement for testosterone?
No protocol in this catalog is testosterone, and Peptides.build does not prescribe testosterone therapy. Kisspeptin is the one protocol that touches the reproductive-hormone axis: it is the upstream signal that starts that cascade. The human studies we cite used a different, longer form of kisspeptin in small mechanism studies, and they are not a basis for claims about anyone's hormone levels. If hormones are your question, a licensed provider should look at your labs and history. Read What is kisspeptin?
Are these peptides allowed in drug-tested sport?
Mostly not. The World Anti-Doping Agency prohibits BPC-157 and TB-500 at all times, so the Wolverine and KLOW stacks are out. Tesamorelin and CJC-1295 sit under S2 as growth hormone releasing factors, and ipamorelin, kisspeptin and MOTS-c are prohibited too. DSIP is not named on the WADA list. Check with your governing body before any prescription is filled.

FAQ
Which peptides can men get prescribed online?
At Peptides.build: BPC-157, the Wolverine and KLOW stacks, tesamorelin, Tesamorelin / Ipamorelin, CJC-1295 / Ipamorelin, DSIP, Semax / Selank, MOTS-c, Epitalon, kisspeptin, and compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide. A licensed provider decides whether any of them is appropriate for you.
Is it a good idea for men to take peptides?
That depends on your history and goals, and it is a provider decision. Go in clear-eyed: compounded peptides are not FDA-approved, and outside the GLP-1s and tesamorelin, most of the research is in animals or cells.
Are peptides better than TRT?
There is no trial comparing them, and they are different things. Testosterone therapy replaces a hormone. None of the protocols here is testosterone, and Peptides.build does not prescribe testosterone.
Do peptides count as steroids?
No. Peptides are short chains of amino acids; anabolic steroids are a different chemical class. Several peptides are still prohibited in drug-tested sport, including BPC-157, TB-500, tesamorelin, ipamorelin, CJC-1295, kisspeptin and MOTS-c.
Can I legally buy peptides?
With a prescription, from a licensed pharmacy. Since October 28, 2026, HHS lets licensed 503A pharmacies compound six peptides for patients with a prescription: BPC-157, TB-500, MOTS-c, Epitalon, Semax and KPV. Research-use-only vials are not sold for human use.
Can peptides help with weight loss?
Semaglutide and tirzepatide are peptide-based GLP-1 medications with large randomized trials, run on the branded drugs in adults with obesity or type 2 diabetes. The compounded versions prescribed here are not FDA-approved. Your provider screens for the known cautions first.
How is tesamorelin taken?
As a subcutaneous injection, shipped already reconstituted. Your provider sets the protocol; dosing is never published on this site. Tesamorelin is $199 month to month here.
What are the downsides of peptides?
They are not FDA-approved when compounded, the human evidence is thin for most of them, many are banned in sport, and most are injections. Anyone with an active cancer diagnosis needs their oncologist's clearance first.
