# Peptides for muscle growth and body composition: which can be prescribed online?

Four performance protocols can be prescribed through Peptides.build: tesamorelin, tesamorelin paired with ipamorelin, CJC-1295 paired with ipamorelin, and kisspeptin. Three of the four are growth-hormone secretagogues that prompt the body's own release rather than supplying a hormone; kisspeptin acts upstream in the reproductive axis. All are injectable, compounded by a licensed US 503A pharmacy, and prescribed only after a licensed US provider reviews your intake.

Choosing

## How do you choose a performance protocol?

The three growth-hormone protocols differ in which receptor they signal and how long the signal lasts. Tesamorelin is a stabilized GHRH analog with randomized human trial data, although that data comes from its FDA-approved use in HIV-associated abdominal fat accumulation, not from general use. CJC-1295 is a longer-acting GHRH analog studied in healthy adults for its effect on growth hormone and IGF-1 secretion. Ipamorelin is a selective ghrelin-receptor agonist that is paired with either GHRH analog so two different signals converge on the same axis.

Kisspeptin is a different kind of protocol. It sits at the top of the reproductive hormone cascade, which is why provider review matters more here and usually involves labs. It is not a growth-hormone secretagogue and is not interchangeable with the other three.

Every performance protocol here is on the World Anti-Doping Agency Prohibited List. Drug-tested athletes should read the anti-doping line on each protocol page and check with their governing body before starting any of them.

### Who performance protocols are considered for

- Adults focused on lean mass and body composition, not scale weight alone.
- Former athletes rebuilding training capacity with provider oversight.
- People who want lab-guided, provider-managed endocrine signaling.

### Who should not start one

- Anyone pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
- People with an active cancer diagnosis, unless cleared by their oncologist.
- Drug-tested athletes: tesamorelin, CJC-1295, ipamorelin and kisspeptin are on the WADA Prohibited List.
- Anyone a licensed provider determines is not an appropriate candidate.

Eligibility is always determined by a licensed provider during intake.

Prescription, not research grade

## Prescribed performance peptides vs research peptides: what is different?

Prescribed performance peptides are not research chemicals. They are prescription medications: a licensed US provider reviews your intake first, and a licensed 503A pharmacy compounds each one for you by name. Vials sold online as “research use only” skip both steps. What you pay for here is that review, a pharmacy you can name, and a label that says what is in the vial.

A research seller’s certificate of analysis is a document the seller controls: it chooses the lab and the sample, and a PDF can be reused, edited or re-dated. No regulator checks it.

Prescribed performance peptides compared with research-use-only peptides
| Point | Prescribed through Peptides.build | Research use only |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Access | Online intake reviewed by a licensed US provider; prescribed only when appropriate. | No prescription and no clinical review of whether it suits you. |
| How it's labeled | A prescription medication compounded for you by name. | Commonly sold labeled “research use only, not for human consumption.” |
| Who prepares it | A licensed 503A US compounding pharmacy under state and federal oversight. | Unregulated suppliers, often with no verifiable chain of custody. |
| Testing | Third-party tested. | Certificates of analysis are self-reported when provided at all. |
| Purity and identity | Prepared to a prescription for a specific patient. | Purity, strength, and even identity are unverified by any independent party. |

This compares two care models, not two products. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved, and we do not claim otherwise. What a prescription adds is a licensed provider deciding whether a protocol is appropriate for you and a licensed pharmacy preparing it. Common questions

## Performance protocol FAQ

### What is the difference between tesamorelin and CJC-1295?

Both are growth-hormone-releasing hormone analogs that prompt the pituitary to release the body's own growth hormone. Tesamorelin is a stabilized form with randomized human trial data in one indication; CJC-1295 is a longer-acting form studied for its pharmacokinetics in healthy adults. Either is paired with ipamorelin in this catalog, and a provider decides which pairing, if any, fits you.

### Is tesamorelin FDA-approved?

Tesamorelin is FDA-approved under a brand name for one indication only, the reduction of excess abdominal fat in adults with HIV-associated lipodystrophy. Compounded tesamorelin is a different product prepared by a 503A pharmacy for an individual patient and is not FDA-approved.

### Why pair a GHRH analog with ipamorelin?

They act on different receptors. A GHRH analog signals the pituitary directly; ipamorelin acts on the ghrelin receptor. Prescribed together they target the same growth-hormone axis through two routes, which is why both pairings exist in the catalog. Whether a pairing is appropriate is a provider decision.

### Are performance peptides allowed in sport?

No. Tesamorelin and CJC-1295 are listed by the World Anti-Doping Agency among growth hormone releasing factors, ipamorelin among growth hormone secretagogues, and kisspeptin among peptide hormones, all prohibited at all times. Drug-tested athletes should check with their governing body.

### Do these protocols publish doses?

No. Dosing is set by your prescribing provider and is never published on this site. Prescriptions arrive already reconstituted with the concentration on the label, and your provider tells you how many units to draw.

### Does tesamorelin have an intake yet?

Tesamorelin on its own is listed in the catalog but its online intake is still being built, so its page shows an intake-coming-soon state. The tesamorelin / ipamorelin blend has a live intake.

### How much do performance protocols cost?

Performance protocols are $199 to $225 billed monthly, with 3-month and 6-month plans that bring the effective price down to $158 to $183 per month. Every price includes the provider review, compounding by a licensed US 503A pharmacy and cold-chain shipping; there is no separate membership fee.

## Build your performance protocol

A licensed US provider reviews a short online intake and decides what, if anything, is appropriate. A US 503A pharmacy prepares it, labels the concentration and ships it cold-chain, ready to draw.

Protocols on this page are compounded medications and are not FDA-approved. This page is provided for education and is not medical advice. No results are implied or guaranteed. Prescriptions are issued only when a licensed US provider determines treatment is clinically appropriate. Research referenced describes preclinical, review or limited clinical findings, not expected outcomes.
