# Peptides for sleep and focus: which can be prescribed online?

Three protocols in this goal can be prescribed through Peptides.build: Semax paired with Selank, DSIP, and MOTS-c. They address the parts of performance that happen away from training: attention, calm, sleep architecture and mitochondrial energy. All are injectable, compounded by a licensed US 503A pharmacy, and prescribed only after a licensed US provider reviews your intake. None is FDA-approved, and the human evidence for each is limited.

Choosing

## How do you choose a cognitive protocol?

This is the most over-promised corner of the peptide world, so the honest framing matters. Semax and Selank are synthetic regulatory peptides with clinical use in Russia and mostly non-randomized studies; here they are prescribed together because their profiles complement each other. DSIP is the peptide most associated with sleep research, but the published work is decades old and mixed. MOTS-c is a mitochondrial peptide with animal data and human exercise-sample studies, and no completed human efficacy trials.

None of these protocols is positioned for, or appropriate as, treatment for a diagnosed condition. If attention, mood or sleep problems are affecting your life, that is a conversation for a clinician first; a protocol here is a provider decision made after that conversation, not a substitute for it.

MOTS-c is on the World Anti-Doping Agency Prohibited List as a metabolic modulator. Semax, Selank and DSIP are not named on the list, but non-approved substances can fall under its catch-all category, so drug-tested athletes should check with their governing body.

### Who cognitive protocols are considered for

- People whose main goal is steadier attention across long days.
- People whose recovery is limited by poor sleep quality.
- Athletes pairing training work with provider-guided care for energy metabolism.

### Who should not start one

- Anyone pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
- People with an active cancer diagnosis, unless cleared by their oncologist.
- Anyone seeking treatment for a diagnosed mood, attention or sleep disorder: see a clinician first.
- Anyone a licensed provider determines is not an appropriate candidate.

Eligibility is always determined by a licensed provider during intake.

Prescription, not research grade

## Prescribed cognitive peptides vs research peptides: what is different?

Prescribed cognitive peptides are not research chemicals. They are prescription medications: a licensed US provider reviews your intake first, and a licensed 503A pharmacy compounds each one for you by name. Vials sold online as “research use only” skip both steps. What you pay for here is that review, a pharmacy you can name, and a label that says what is in the vial.

A research seller’s certificate of analysis is a document the seller controls: it chooses the lab and the sample, and a PDF can be reused, edited or re-dated. No regulator checks it.

Prescribed cognitive peptides compared with research-use-only peptides
| Point | Prescribed through Peptides.build | Research use only |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Access | Online intake reviewed by a licensed US provider; prescribed only when appropriate. | No prescription and no clinical review of whether it suits you. |
| How it's labeled | A prescription medication compounded for you by name. | Commonly sold labeled “research use only, not for human consumption.” |
| Who prepares it | A licensed 503A US compounding pharmacy under state and federal oversight. | Unregulated suppliers, often with no verifiable chain of custody. |
| Testing | Third-party tested. | Certificates of analysis are self-reported when provided at all. |
| Purity and identity | Prepared to a prescription for a specific patient. | Purity, strength, and even identity are unverified by any independent party. |

This compares two care models, not two products. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved, and we do not claim otherwise. What a prescription adds is a licensed provider deciding whether a protocol is appropriate for you and a licensed pharmacy preparing it. Common questions

## Cognitive protocol FAQ

### Are Semax and Selank the same thing?

No. Semax is a synthetic analog of a fragment of ACTH; Selank is a synthetic analog of the immune peptide tuftsin. They were developed by the same Russian research institute and are often prescribed together because they are studied for different pathways, attention and calm respectively.

### Is DSIP a sleeping pill?

No. DSIP, delta sleep-inducing peptide, is a signaling peptide studied in relation to sleep architecture. It is not a sedative and is not prescribed as a treatment for insomnia or any sleep disorder. A provider decides whether it fits your protocol.

### Why is MOTS-c in the focus and sleep goal?

Because its research centers on cellular energy metabolism rather than on muscle or tissue repair. It is a peptide encoded in mitochondrial DNA, studied in animal models and in human exercise samples.

### Are these peptides FDA-approved?

No. Semax, Selank, DSIP and MOTS-c are not FDA-approved for any use (Semax and Selank are approved medicines in Russia), and compounded medications are not FDA-approved. They are prescribed only when a licensed US provider decides a protocol is appropriate.

### Are these protocols injectable or nasal?

The protocols in this catalog are subcutaneous injections, supplied already reconstituted. Semax and Selank also exist as nasal sprays elsewhere, which are dosed by spray and are a different product.

### How much do cognitive protocols cost?

Cognitive protocols are $199 to $225 billed monthly, with 3-month and 6-month plans that bring the effective price down to $158 to $183 per month. Every price includes the provider review, compounding by a licensed US 503A pharmacy and cold-chain shipping; there is no separate membership fee.

## Build your cognitive protocol

A licensed US provider reviews a short online intake and decides what, if anything, is appropriate. A US 503A pharmacy prepares it, labels the concentration and ships it cold-chain, ready to draw.

Protocols on this page are compounded medications and are not FDA-approved. This page is provided for education and is not medical advice. No results are implied or guaranteed. Prescriptions are issued only when a licensed US provider determines treatment is clinically appropriate. Research referenced describes preclinical, review or limited clinical findings, not expected outcomes.
